A mother who was found dead after suffering multiple stab wounds has been named by police.


Elizabeth Lacey, 63 was found in a house in Garston, Liverpool on Thursday and a post-mortem revealed her cause of death this morning.


Last night, floral tributes were left outside a house on Hardy Street and one of the messages left on a bunch of flowers described Mrs Lacey as a ‘lovely lady’.


Online tributes to the business growth owner also flooded in from her former colleagues and friends.


Liverpool councillor Nick Small paid his respects to his former colleague on Twitter.


He said: ‘Just hearing some sad news about the tragic death of Liz Lacey.


‘I worked closely with Liz when she worked on community enterprise at Liverpool Vision. Thoughts with Liz’s friends and family.’


Social media user Claire Caddick said: ‘So sad to hear about lovely, funny and foxy Liz Lacey. Liverpool has lost another amazing woman. Things will change because of this! Incomprehensible.’

Another Twitter user said that they were ‘tearful’ after they were given the news that Mrs Lacey had died.   


Pete Wylie said: ‘I’m so utterly shocked and saddened at the news about lovely Liz Lacey. I’m shaking and tearful. Lots of love to you Liz.’



Another user added: ‘RIP Liz Lacey -shocked at her death.


‘Friends since her 1980s platinum bombshell days. Funny, smart, vivacious & with the sharpest wit and cheekbones of anyone I’ve ever known.’ 


























Mrs Lacey had previously worked at Liverpool Vision, an Economic Development Company, as well as previously running three of her own businesses and a vintage clothes shop in Oxton, Wirral. 


Police officers were initially called to a property half a mile away at 6pm where they found a 54-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds who is now in a serious but stable condition. 


Following further inquiries, police then attended the Hardy Street property where they found Mrs Lacey’s body.


A 21-year-old man, from Allerton, Liverpool, who was arrested, has been detained under the Mental Health Act.
