Ant-Man and The Fly get buzzing in hilarious Funny or Die mashup trailer

"Seems.. more intense."

Although the Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen hordes of heroes from different movies teaming up with one another — why else have an extended cinematic universe if you don’t have disparate superheroes joining forces? — one collab that probably won’t ever happen is one between Ant-Man from the MCU and Brundlefly from David Cronenberg’s 1986 horror classic, The Fly.

Fortunately, thanks to a hilarious — and more than a little disturbing — faux trailer for Ant-Man and The Fly, we can imagine what it would look like if Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang and Jeff Goldblum’s Dr. Seth Brundle formed a superhero team. (Short answer: weird. It would look very, very weird.)

In this mashup trailer courtesy of Funny or Die, Ant-Man gets a new, “more intense” partner in the form of The Fly. Sure, he’s got superhuman strength, agility, and the ability to climb walls and ceilings. But he also tends to vomit a lot.

Check it out below:

If we’re being honest, we’re impressed with how seamless and integrated the mashup looks. Well done, Funny or Die!

Now, OK. We know what you’re thinking: "But SYFY WIRE, this mashup can’t possibly happen! Jeff Goldblum is already in the MCU as Grandmaster! How could he play Brundlefly?" The answer: We have no idea. Perhaps they’re brothers? The Grandmaster got stranded on Earth and got amnesia? A parallel universe? A fissure in reality caused by the Infinity Gauntlet?

The possibilities are endless. So, now’s the time to give us your fan theories in the comments below.
