Jacob Rees-Mogg sees the funny side as Channel 4"s Jon Snow tells protesters to "shut up" in live interview

On a day of turmoil for the Tory party, at least one MP saw the funny side.

Jacob Rees-Mogg showed up in Westminster to be interview by Jon Snow, the Channel 4 News anchor, about his thoughts on a chaotic day for the Conservative Party.

But as he was about to offer his thoughts, the broadcast was interrupted by shouts across the green in the background from various protesters.

Addressing the camera, a distracted Snow told listeners: "I might just tell them if they can be quiet for a moment."

Turning round to the protesters, he then shouts at them: "Guys, could you just shut up for just three minutes. Three minutes? I have got someone to speak to."
