Kimmel: It"s weird to hear Trump lie about you
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel called out President TrumpDonald John TrumpMcConnell to meet with Trump"s Supreme Court pick Tuesday Kavanaugh offers lengthy judicial record ahead of bitter confirmation fight Hundreds protest Kavanaugh"s nomination outside Supreme Court MORE on Monday for statements he made about a previous encounter, saying that "it’s weird to hear him tell a lie that specifically involves you.”
Among other things, Trump said at a rally in South Carolina last month that Kimmel waited for him outside the studio when Trump was set to be a guest on his show.
"That never happened," Kimmel said after playing a clip of Trump"s comments. “It"s a funny thing. Even the people who like the president know he makes things up. But still, it’s weird to hear him tell a lie that specifically involves you.”
Kimmel, a frequent critic of Trump"s, went on to say that not only did he not wait outside for Trump to arrive, he never greeted him while Trump was in his dressing room.
"I like to greet the guests on stage," he said. "I feel dumb saying hello to them and saying hello again 10 minutes later. But I digress — none of that actually happened."
Kimmel finished the segment by mocking Trump, saying that what really happened that night was that "Trump showed up one night outside our show, banging on the backstage door. It was 2007. He had a half-finished bucket of chicken under his arm."
"And he was screaming that he needed to use the bathroom. But unfortunately, there was someone in the bathroom," Kimmel said. "I believe it was Zach Braff who was in the bathroom. So Donald took a look around, he stuffed the remainder of the chicken in his jacket, he dropped his pants, he did his business in the bucket. That’s true — that story is exactly as true as his was.”
Kimmel"s comments came weeks after Trump attacked him and other late-night hosts, including Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon, at the rally in South Carolina.
“Honestly, are these people funny? And I can laugh at myself. Frankly, if I couldn’t, I’d be in big trouble,” Trump said.Source: http://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/in-the-know/3396271-kimmel-calls-out-trump-for-lying-about-their-encounter-its-weird-to-hear
