One day after actor Dave Bautista – who plays the role of Drax The Destroyer in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies – joked about receiving a solo film, a mock poster has been made for just such a movie. Titled Drax, The Invisible Man, the movie is “based upon that scene from Infinity War… you remember.”

Bautista’s joke, which the actor cracked on his personal Twitter account, was based on recent reports that Jared Leto, who played The Joker in Suicide Squad, would be getting his own solo movie. This followed reports of several other Joker movies being in the works, including a non-DCEU film starring Joaquin Phoenix and a Joker/Harley Quinn team-up movie with Margot Robbie, in addition to the Suicide Squad sequel. Bautista’s feeling was that, if the Joker was getting all this attention, surely Marvel Studios could see fit to giving Drax a movie of his own?

The poster by FANDOM, which can be seen below, was posted on the website’s official Twitter account. The poster depicts Drax’s fellow Guardians Star-Lord and Gamora just moments away from kissing in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, unaware that the ever-stealthy Drax is watching them.

Amusing as the thought may be of a movie about Drax embarking on a solo mission, in which his warrior’s skills and ability to become all but invisible by moving very slowly are put to the test, such a movie would not be very practical. As a character, Drax is at his best as part of an ensemble, where he has other characters to play off of, further fueling the conflict and comedy of the situations he finds himself in. While Drax is an amusing character among the other Guardians, it’s unclear if he could carry an entire film by himself. What’s more, there’s little to no time for him to even make such a film, as Marvel Studios’ lineup is all but set in stone at this point in time and James Gunn (who would surely want to direct a solo Drax movie) is as busy as Bautista himself.

It should be noted that this line of speculation is a reflection on Drax as a character and not on Dave Bautista as an actor. Bautista certainly has the charisma to carry an entire film by himself. Indeed, he is scheduled to star in the action/comedy Stuber next year in addition to playing Drax in Avengers 4 and any future Guardians of the Galaxy films. Plus, if Bautista has his way, he would be leading the charge in a live-action Gears of War movie at some point.
