Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson was in best-on-ground calculations when it came to the funniest Big Freeze 4 outfits.

‘Clarko’ used his debut on the slide ahead of the Queen’s Birthday clash between Melbourne and Collingwood at the MCG as a chance to make fun of the infamous ‘coffee with Gill’ incident.

AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan had a coffee with Clarkson last month after the Hawthorn coach had claimed the Sydney defenders got away with “blue murder” when it came to blocking.

“It has actually been a pretty big day, I came down this morning and had a cup of coffee with ‘Gill’,” Clarkson said jokingly before pulling a takeaway coffee cup from his jacket.

The four-rival premiership mentor decided to go down the slide dressed Sydney coach John ‘Horse’ Longmire, inspired by the pair’s recent bickering.

He donned a Swans jacket and pulled on a horse head before taking the plunge.

“I thought to myself there’s a bit of argy bargy going on between me and the big horse Longmire,” Clarkson said.

Fremantle coach Ross Lyon came dressed as a cobbler, inspired by his famous “let the cobblers do the cobbling” line during press conferences.

West Coast coach Adam Simpson also had a comical outfit, going down the slide as Chazz Michael Michaels from Blades of Glory.
